The Graduate Studies Task Force was organized by RGS.  Its report expresses support for competitive graduate student recruitment, a streamlined graduate degree approval process, and a new oversight and advisory structure for graduate education.  See the full report and recommendations.

Graduate competition and summit highlight research
To highlight research conducted by graduate students, the Graduate and Professional Association (GPA) is organizing two functions in March that demonstrate the influence of graduate student research on the campus and the state of Kansas.  Both events are sponsored by the Office of Research and Graduate Studies. 

Undergraduate research journal compilation begins
Beginning in the spring of 2008, the University of Kansas will start compilation and publication of its first Journal of Undergraduate Research. JUR is a biannual, peer-reviewed publication of undergraduate research at KU from a range of academic fields.

KU Research Achievement Award to Rick Miller of Kansas Geological Survey
Rick Miller, an associate scientist and chief of the Exploration Services Section of the Kansas Geological Survey, received the second KU Research Achievement Award at the Research and Graduate Studies Convocation in January.
