About the URA fund
This fund has been made available through a partnership between
the Provost's Office and the Office of the Vice Provost for Research
(OVPR). Each will provide half of the funding (maximum amount
$1,250) for KU faculty members to employ undergraduate research
assistants on research projects.
When KU provides research experiences for undergraduate students,
it improves the quality of undergraduate education, fosters opportunities
for mentoring from talented faculty researchers, and contributes
to the retention or both.
The goal of this fund is:
- to increase the number of undergraduates participating in
research,
- to increase the number of faculty that mentor undergraduate
research, and
- to increase the externally funded projects which support
undergraduate research.
How to participate in the URA fund
Applications are taken on a per semester basis. Watch for future
announcnements on the News for researchers and staff page.
The Vice Provost for Research will assign a faculty review committee
to oversee the awarding of the URA stipends.
