New Associate Vice Provost Named

Joshua Rosenbloom, professor of economics and director of the Center for Economic and Business Analysis in KU’s Institute for Policy & Social Research, has been named associate vice provost for research, effective October 23. He succeeds Mary Lee Hummert, who was appointed vice provost for faculty development in August.

Rosenbloom came to KU in 1988. He was promoted to full professor in 2000 and became director of the center a year later. He is a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research in Cambridge, Mass. His academic background includes a B.A. degree from Oberlin College and a Ph.D. degree from Stanford University.

Rosenbloom will report to Jim Roberts, vice provost for research, and work closely with George Wilson, associate vice provost. In his new position he will participate in the oversight of KU’s research centers and have primary responsibility for the research integrity unit, the research training coordinator, the management of the General Research Fund (GRF) and Major Project Planning Grant (MPPG) Fund, and relationships with foundations in support of KU research.
