NSF combines and revises GPG & GPM
The new NSF Proposal and Award Policies and Procedures Guide (NSF 07-140) consolidates two previous stand-alone NSF policy documents—the NSF Grant Proposal Guide (GPG) and the Grant Policy Manual (GPM)—and combines them into a single electronic policy framework. The new guide will be effective for proposals submitted on or after June 1, 2007, and supercedes all prior versions of the GPG and GPM. Please note:

NSF Allowable Fonts (Effective 6/1/07)—REVISED
An Arial, Helvetica, Palatino (for Macintosh), Palatino Linotype (for Windows), Computer Modern (TeX only), or Georgia typeface; a black font color; and a font size of 10 points or larger must be used.  (A Symbol font may be used to insert Greek letters or special characters; however, the font size requirement still applies.)  The use of small type not in compliance with the above guidelines may be grounds for NSF to return the proposal without review.

NSF Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Program Solicitation Now Available
The National Science Foundation's (NSF's) Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Program offers the foundation's most prestigious awards in support of the early career-development activities. Proposals for the 2007 competition are due in July, and special eligibility criteria apply. Need help? Proposal Services assists researchers with proposal preparation and submission. Proposers are encouraged to contact Barbara Earl, manager, Proposal Services, 864-7781, early in the proposal planning process.
