Research and Graduate Studies @ KU

Updates from the Office of Research and Graduate Studies — October 2007

New faculty introduction to research planned

The Office of Research and Graduate Studies (RGS) invites you to attend an "Introduction to Research for New Faculty" session later this month. This is an informational meeting and an opportunity for you to ask questions about the different roles RGS performs in facilitating research at KU.

We will cover such topics as:

  • How RGS supports faculty research
  • How to apply for a KU New Faculty General Research Fund (NFGRF) grant
  • How to work with Proposal Services, Post-Award Services, Research Integrity, and other RGS units
  • Understanding Facilities and Administration (F&A) reimbursement

Three sessions are scheduled for different dates and locations. Cookies and soda will be available. Please attend the session that’s most convenient for you:,

  • Tuesday, October 23, 3:00-4:00 p.m., Jayhawk Room, Kansas Union
  • Thursday, October 25, 2:30-3:30 p.m., Spahr Classroom, Eaton Hall
  • Wednesday, October 31, 3:00-4:00 p.m., Hall Center Conference Room

Faculty who have been at KU more than two years are also encouraged to attend.

To help us with our planning for refreshments, please RSVP for a specific session by sending an e-mail to tkopsa@ku.edu. If your schedule should change, however, don’t hesitate to drop in on one of the sessions. For more information, contact Joshua Rosenbloom, associate vice provost for research and graduate studies, at jrosenbloom@ku.edu, 864-3567.

We look forward to seeing you later this month!
