Boyda considers KU pharmaceuticals proposal
Representative Nancy Boyda toured the construction site of the Structural Biology Center on Oct. 26. KU professors presented Boyda with information on how the $21 million addition to the SBC will help the university become a major pharmaceuticals manufacturing site.

Researcher gives caregivers another connection
Cynthia Teel, assistant dean and associate professor at the KU School of Nursing, is investigating the value of a telephone-based intervention program called Self-Care TALK, which allows caregivers and nurses to spend time each week discussing issues like diet and exercise.

Two research professors named as fellows to science society
Jerome E. Dobson, professor of geography, and Adrian L. Melott, professor of physics and astronomy, were honored as fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science for breakthroughs that have pushed forward scientific understanding.

Technology developed at KU acquired by digital media company
Veatros LLC is a University of Kansas start-up company and an alumnus of Larta Institute. The technology, developed at KU’s Information and Telecommunication Technology Center, will perform enhanced video and discovery searches to help better manage users’ media collections.
