RGS Convocation to be held Jan. 29
The program will include updates on both research and graduate education at KU, and it will feature co-presentations by faculty members and their graduate students. A question and answer session will be followed by a reception.

Bioengineering Day features prominent speakers
The Second Regional Bioengineering Day will be held on Dec. 8 at the University of Kansas Medical Center. The event features speakers from KU, Texas, NYU and others.

NCURA 2008 workshops announced
The National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA) has announced the NCURA TV 2008 Workshop Series schedule, with presentations in January, March, June and September. The series will begin on Jan. 22.

K-INBRE seeks proposals
The Scientific Steering Committee for the Kansas IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (K-INBRE) is calling for proposals. The purpose of this research support is to further the ability of Kansas researchers to compete successfully for NIH funds.

Distinguished military historian named KU-Ft. Leavenworth Program director
Adrian R. Lewis has been named permanent director of the program.  Lewis will begin his duties next summer, succeeding the interim director, David Lambertson.  He will also hold a half-time appointment as professor of history at KU.

Art reception successful; works on display year-round
The reception allowed attendees the opportunity to view both the art and the MRB, as well as gain knowledge of the pieces from the artists directly. The works of Carol Ann Carter, Gerald Lubensky, Alison Luoma and Matthew Burke are on display to the public.
