NCURA 2008 workshops beginning

The National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA) has announced the NCURA TV 2008 Workshop Series schedule, with presentations in January, March, June and September.

The first workshop will be held Jan. 22 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Simons Auditorium in the Higuchi Biosciences Center. It will focus on “Managing Cost Issues.” Faculty from around the country will discuss such topics as:

  • personnel and payroll issues
  • cost transfers
  • cost sharing management and companion accounts
  • costing and billing service centers
  • allowability of certain troublesome costs (such as food)
  • procurement cards

The workshops are funded by the Office of Research and Graduate Studies and the Higuchi Biosciences Center, and there is no cost to attend. Lunch breaks are only 30 minutes, so attendees are encouraged to bring a box lunch.
