The Graduate Teaching Assistant Awards Committee is now soliciting nominations for awards for outstanding GTAs. The committee is also seeking nominations for the Distinguished Service Award.
The announcement date for these awards was set early in the semester to enable greater recognition for those graduate students nominated and selected for honors. All awardees and finalists will be recognized at the Graduate School Awards Ceremony in April. The Carlin GTA Award winners and the Outstanding GTA Award winners will again be recognized during Commencement activities in May. Recipients of these awards will also receive cash prizes.
The committee solicits nominations from students and faculty in any department. Students are encouraged nominate GTAs, and if a GTA receives five or more student nominations, we will solicit further information from the teaching department and will consider him or her for the awards. Undergraduates should be aware that they are invited to nominate an outstanding GTA, and their assistance in providing these nominations will be greatly appreciated.
