Grad students travel to State Capitol to present research
Twelve KU students will present their research as part of the Graduate Student Research Summit in Topeka on March 13. The Summit provides graduate students from Kansas State, Wichita State and KU an opportunity to present their research to a broad audience.
Graduate research competition highlights student posters
The Graduate and Professional Association is sponsoring the annual Graduate Student Research Competition March 12. Forty-seven students have been invited to participate in this year's competition. The competition will award prizes to the top 15 research posters.
Undergraduate Research Symposium deadline approaching
The deadline for submission to the Undergraduate Research Symposium (URS) is March 14, 2008. Students can apply online. The 11th Annual URS will be held April 12 in the Kansas Union. The URS is an excellent opportunity for students to display their work and obtain feedback.
KU Natural History Museum seeks art for new gallery space
The Natural History Museum Student Advisory Board welcomes submissions for an exhibit until approximately April 15. The exhibit will display artwork that focuses on artistic interpretations of scientific topics. The theme of the exhibit is "Biodiversity is...".
Governor proclaims "Polar Education and Research Day"
Gov. Kathleen Sebelius proclaimed Feb. 27 Polar Education and Research Day, citing KU's involvement in educating students and the public about the importance of polar regions in global climate and sea level. The governor lauds the university's involvement in research into polar matters both past and present.
