Conflict of Interest

Annual Conflict of Interest (COI) reporting will begin the week of September 8th so watch for your email.

In order to avoid KU network overload errors, the e-mail requests for reports will be sent in batches over a two-week period. The reporting interface may be accessed through the KYou Portal

  • NIH non-competing continuation progress reports have new requirements are required for all annual progress reports due on/after October 1, 2009.http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-09-139.html
    Applicants are strongly encouraged to access the instructions and forms via the Internet because they provide valuable links to current policy documents and allow easy navigation of the instructions.
  • NIH FCOI reporting in era Commons: The mandatory start date for the new NIH FCOI reporting is July 1, 2009. The notice can be found at http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-09-072.html. Filing a report through this system is required before the expenditure of funds on a new award, or within 60 days of the determination of a conflict for an existing one.

Travel Rates Have Changed

KUCR travel rates effective for travel beginning on or after August 1, 2009

  • Domestic per diem rate: $54 per day / $13.50 per quarter day  [NEW RATE]
  • International per diem rate: $87 per day / $21.75 per quarter day  [NO CHANGE]
  • Personal mileage reimbursement rate: $.55 per mile [NO CHANGE]

Cayuse comes to KU

The Office of Research and Graduate Studies is responding proactively to address the shortcomings of grants.gov, the federal program that provides access to all major grant programs. While the limitations of grants.gov have been apparent for some time, the recent flood of proposals caused by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act made finding a solution a high priority.

For KU, the solution is Cayuse, www.cayuse.com, a System-2-System, or S2S Web-based platform that will speed up the submission process and reduce the risk of a missed deadline. The cost of implementing Cayuse is being borne by the KU Center for Research.
